First of all, we advise you to ask everyone to rinse the sink after they brush their teeth. We also recommend you to make sure they pick their towels, and even help you to clean the bathroom. You could teach your children how to do household activities easily as it is one of the greatest things you are ever going to do.
What is in the bathroom cleaning products?
Most of the products that can be found on the market are fully packed with dangerous chemicals. You have to be aware that bleach is the worst of them, especially for the small children. Precisely, chlorine in bleach reacts with the acids and releases toxic gases. It’s well known that bleach is corrosive and irritant. Namely, it’s able to damage the skin and any other organic material that it comes in contact with.
One more important fact is that they contain up to 10 – 50% hydrochloric acid, or better said the acid that’s in your stomach. It’s associated with irritation of the respiratory tract and kidney damage when inhaled.
There are products that contain fragrances that could cause headache, allergic reactions, and irritate the lungs.
We recommend you to use all natural products.
Below we will reveal you the ultimate toilet cleaner.
- Half a cup baking soda
- Half a cup corn starch
- Half a cup citric acid
- 25 drops essential oil of your choice (orange essential oil has great cleaning properties; you can use other oils to enhance the scent)
- spray bottle
- gallon-size zip-top bag
- a giant Ziploc baggie
- molds or muffin tins
Method of preparation:
Mix all the ingredients in the bags, except for the essential oils. Shake vigorously. After that, open the bag and pour in 2-3 spritzes of water. Seal it nicely and knead. Repeat this for 5 – 7 times. In case if your bag puffs too much you have to release the air. It’s a normal reaction of the acid and the baking soda.
The mixture should resemble a pie dough. It should stay together when you squeeze a handful.
Remember not to use too much water.
After doing this, you should add the oils in the mixture and re – knead the content.
Put the resulting mixture into molds, and if you want to do this super firmly you can use a second muffin tin in order to get the optimal pressure.
It is recommended to leave the mixture to dry for a few days. Take your ‘muffins’ out of the molds, and leave them to dry for another 2 days.
Keep in mind that you need to keep your toilet cleaning bombs in some sealed container for any further use.
Finally, everything you need to do is to drop one of these ‘bombs’ into your toilet, and watch it fizz. Then, use your scrubby brush to remove any odd things and simply flush. These bombs are amazing for both, you and the environment.
