Salt has long been used only for seasoning our food, but nowadays we can use it for many other purposes. Salt has practical uses that can contribute to your general health in many different ways. For example, adding salt in your favorite cosmetic products is able to improve the quality of your skin and hair.
If you have oily hair, the salt might help you – just add around 2-3 tablespoons in your favorite shampoo and your hair won’t be so greasy any more. The results should be noticeable after only a few treatments!
Salt is also an amazing body scrub. First, buy coarse sea salt, and mix 2 teaspoons of it in half a cup of coconut oil. Mix well the ingredients, and then use the mixture to scrub your body when it’s solidified. Salt is also a natural foot exfoliator and that will make your feet smooth and soft when you rub a mixture of olive oil and salt on them.
Salt as a natural remedy
Paper cuts can be very unpleasant, but luckily, salt comes to the rescue once more. Dissolve 2 teaspoons of salt in one glass of water, and apply a bit of the mixture on the cut in order to disinfect it. It might feel a bit unpleasant, of course, but that’s a sign that it is actually working.
In case you are having frequent headaches, you should drink a solution of some salt and water and the pain will be gone in only 15 minutes.
However, if you are suffering from high blood pressure, you will need to limit your salt intake. Salt can raise your blood pressure even more, creating new life-threatening conditions that might end up being fatal.
